Tea Sparrow delivered samples of all natural loose leaf teas directly to my doorstep in the quaintest package I have ever seen. In a simple cardboard box stamped with their logo, Tea Sparrow sent me four mixes to try: Pistachio Date Night, Enchanted Forest, Roasted Almond, and Organic Sweet Cinnamon.

Enchanted Forest:

I am a fan of this particular blend of loose leaf. The Enchanted Forest was like a dream, vivid, sweet, magical. Vibrant and inviting, I was immediately drawn to the variations of colors. The aroma was sweet and strong. I couldn’t place my finger on what it smelled like, exactly, but the fragrance was invigorating.

Ingredients: Sencha Green tea, green mate, rose petals, cornflower blossoms, and natural almond flavor. Caffeinated.

Organic Sweet Cinnamon:

This tea complimented the festive vibe of October, with a bit of sweet with spicy. It has a zing to it, reminding me of orange zest and hot cider as I wrapped myself in warm flannel, my bootie-sock-slippers keeping my toes toasty warm. This cuppa reminded me of Christmas 20 years ago, the aroma of pine and cinnamon, orange, and apples. I could easily wrap my hands around a piping cup of this tea and relive happy memories.

Ingredients: Black tea, cinnamon pieces, orange peel, and natural orange flavor.

Roasted Almond:

I wasn’t sure about all the almond flavors packed into this sample of tea, but I will gladly say that I haven’t regretted trying it. The aroma alone was tantalizing, a sweet nutty invitation to pour a cuppa and enjoy the moment. At first, I thought of my grandmother. When I broke the seal, a scent akin to the light tobacco that clung to her clothing greeted me. Then, the sweetness and nuttiness of the almonds smoothed it out. One sip, two sips.
I was home.

Ingredients: Rooibos tea, slivered almonds, crushed almonds, and natural almond flavor.

Pistachio Date Night:

Pistachio Date Night was surprising. I didn’t know what to expect when I opened the sample. The consistency was unlike any other tea I’ve tried, resembling a cluster of granola. I was not sure how this would taste, but it was nice. The rich, nuttiness melted in with the distinct sweetness of the dates. I’d never had a tea with pistachios and dates, so this was new to me.
I wasn’t crazy about the texture or the way it chunked apart in the water, but the flavor was good and pleasant. I detected hints of vanilla and almond, which combined well with the dates and pistachio.

Ingredients: Date pieces (rice flour, dates), pistachios, almond slivers, rose petals, and natural vanilla flavoring.
