Wordy Wednesdays: A Writer's Words

It’s that time of the week again, where I introduce you to five words you may or may not be familiar with. This week’s theme is a writer’s words.

  1. Amalgamate – (v.) to combine, unite, merge, or mix to form a single thing.
    1. The sisters will amalgamate their savings to buy a yacht.
  2. Loquacious – (adj.) talkative or characterized by excessive speech.
    1. Chatty Kathy is loquacious.
  3. Aplomb – (n.) self-possessed, assured, confident in oneself, particularly in the face of a difficult situation.
    1. I devised a plan to face the bullies with aplomb and courage.
  4. Omnipotent – (n.) the ability to do anything, all-powerful, possessing limitless power.
    1. Her son likes to believe he is omnipotent in his pursuits.
  5. Ubiquitous – (adj.) the presence, existence, or being found elsewhere.
    1. Computers and smartphones have become ubiquitous tools of everyday life.
